APPLICATION FOR HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS

San Francisco, everybody's favorite city and host to the 1982 Gay Athletic Games, welcomes everyone to
attend this very special event.
We decided to accommodate those attending the games who wish to stay with the local residents of San
Francisco in their private homes. This is a great way to meet and get to know the people of San Francisco.
We will need the cooperation of the visiting guests and the local hosts. We are locating hosts who will house
the qualified participants who will attend the 1982 Gay Athletic Games. We will need to know how many
homes to have available well in advance so we ask you to return this application as soon as you know how
many participants from your city are planning to attend. We have a deadline after which we cannot guarantee
a place to stay. The application should be made before July 10, 1982.
We are asking the host to provide housing from August 25 through September 6 as well as to provide
towels and linens. The host will not be responsible for your meals, but the host may provide meals at their
discretion and convenience. We are also encouraging the host to act as guide for their guests during the games.
San Francisco is rich with places to visit and events to attend.
We realize that some guests will want the privacy that hotels, YMCA, and International Youth Hostels
have to offer. Since we cannot use the private residence for your friends you may want to bring to San
Francisco, the hotels will allow you to stay with your friends. San Francisco is a city that has a large tourist
industry and August is the peak season, therefore, we need to have rooms set aside as early as possible to
guarantee a place for you and your friends. Again send the application form in as soon as possible and not
later than July 10, 1982.
The hotel type of accommodatio n will also suit those who wish to stay together with a group or a team.
Since most private residences will be able to accommodate one to two people, hotels or YMCA will
accommodate those who wish to remain together.
We have a list of hotels and their rate which we will send to you upon notification from what type of
accommodatio ns you desire and how many people you wish to stay with.
If you plan to stay with a friend in San Francisco, we will need to know their names and addresses. We
will also need their phone number so we can locate you. We will be putting all the information we have on
a computer so we have accurate information on your event and where you are located while staying in the city.
As we said, the host will provide meals at his discretion. We are contacting the restaurants and requesting
that they honor your photo I D and give you a reduced rate for meals. The photo I D will be issued to you
the day you register.
