CHECK-IN: Numbers may be picked up prior to the race at the International Running Center,
9 East 89th Street, NYC, 2nd ffoor, on Friday, June 28, 12 noon-7:3Q p.m., and on Saturday, June 29,
7:30 a.m.-9:00a.m. No numbers will be issued affer 9:00a.m. on race day.
FREE CHECKING FACILITIES: Located at the race start . Items to be checked must be in a bag.
AWARDS: First, second and third place overall awards for men and women. Awards for men and women
in the following age categories: 19 and under; 20~29; 30~39; 40~49; 50 and over.

Dear Friend of the Community:
Front Runners New York was organized in 1979 as a running club for
Gay men and Lesbians and has grown to over 400 members. On June 29,
1985, Front Runners New York and The New York Native will sponsor the
fourth annual Gay Pride Run, a five-mile race in Central Park. The
1985 race will be conducted with the cooperation of the New York Road
Runners Club.
The annual Gay Pride Run has become an important part of the New York
City running scene and Gay Pride Week. Front Runners continues to
enlarge the Run's visibility. Over 1000 runners are expected to
participate in the 1985 race, an·d a large number of spectators is
anticipated.
The race entry fees, which are kept low to encourage runner
participation, cover only a portion of the race. Additional funds
are needed to help cover the remaining costs. It is for this reason
we are asking you tb participate in Gay Pride Run '85.
There are several ways in which you can support the Gay Pride Run:
• As a Program Advertiser your ad in the Official Race
Program will be produced and distributed to over 1000
spectators and 1000 runners.
• As a Contributing Advertiser your own promotional item
and/or one piece of literature will be enclosed in the
Runner's Kit given to all race partitipants.
• As a Prize Donor you are invited to donate prizes which
are given to race participants at a merchandise drawing
immediately following the Gay Pride Run.
• As a Contributor your donations are welcome and listed
according to your wishes in the Offical Race Program.
Please take a moment of your time to discover the ways in which you
may show your support in Gay Pride Run '85 and in Front Runners New
York. Examine the enclosed SPONSOR KIT and decide how your business
can assist us.
Last year's program is enclosed for your perusal. If you have any
questions please feel free to contact me at 212-340-8900.
We hope you will join us by participating in the fourth annual
running of the only Gay-sponsored race in New York City.
