}; 5/24/2011FRONT RUNNER GRAM www.frny.org We are sad to report the passing of Front
Runner Peter Morales on Friday, May 20, 2011. Peter and his partner of five years,
Steven Blittersdorf, came to FRNY in the spring of 2010 as participants in our beginners
clinic. Although Peter did not complete the Pride Run, he was there to cheer, and
he was an enthusiastic participant in many of the club’s activities, including the
24-mile water station at the NYC marathon. We extend our condolences to his Steven
and to Peter’s sisters and mother and the rest of his family.

With apologies for the short notice, the details of the services are listed below.

}; May 31, 2011 Pride Run 2011: 6/25/11
We’re about to enter Pride Month, which means that the 30th Annual Pride Run is less
than four weeks away. If you haven’t registered yet, now is the time to do it before the
race sells out! Whether you come out to run, cheer, or volunteer, we hope to see
you out there in Central Park on Saturday, June 25 at 9 AM.
This special Front Runner Gram contains important updates and info about the Pride
Run. Course Change
We have an exciting new course this year beginning on the East Drive of Central Park
near 102nd Street for a 5-mile loop to include Harlem Hill. Stick around after the race
for the awards ceremony and an amazing block party on the 102nd Street Transverse. For a
map and a full course description, visit the race page. Sponsorship Opportunities
It’s not too late for your company to support the Pride Run by becoming a sponsor. For
more information on levels of sponsorship and the benefits you will receive, see the
media kit below or email Pride Run Directors Gabriel Celis and Seth Richardson.
2011 Pride Run Media Kit Call for Volunteers
We couldn’t put on this race without the generous help of our volunteers. Please
consider signing up for a shift to help out with registration at NYRR on either
Thursday, June 23 or Friday, June 24 (shifts are 1 PM to 4 PM or 4 PM to 7 PM) or
Saturday, June 25th before the race (in the Park, 7 AM to 9 AM). If you would like to
sign up for one of these shifts or if you have any questions, email Seth with "Pride Run
Volunteer" in the subject line. First Friday is Second Thursday in June Join us
at Boxers NYC (37 West 20th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues) on Thursday, June 9 from
6:30 to 9:30 PM for our Pride Run Fundraiser! Come by for drink specials, meet some new
folks, and support the race. Let’s not forget the amazing raffle we have in store: you
could win a pair of tickets to Heritage of Pride’s Pier Dance or Rapture on the River
(among other fabulous prizes). See you there! Pride Run After-Party: 6/25/11, Post-race
We’ve waited all year for our most magical of days! As you start planning your Pride
festivities, be sure to add the FRNY Lesbian and Gay Pride Run After-Party! In
celebration of our 30th anniversary, Boxers NYC Sportsbar will again play host to FRNY.
This year’s festivities will include complimentary food and drink tickets for FRNY
members and drink specials for all! Join us Saturday, June 25, immediately
following the post-race festivities in Central Park.
Five Ways You Can Support the Pride Run
1. Register for the Pride Run. We have already exceeded the number of
registrations we had last year, and we hope to reach the full capacity of the race this
year -- but not without ALL the Front Runner who want to run, so register now!

2. Get someone else to register. The Pride Run is fun for everyone.
Get your friends, family, and co-workers to join us on June 25.

}; December 16, 2011 2012 is going to be swell!
Greetings!I joined Front Runners nearly two years ago to help me train for my first
marathon, but discovered instead my passion for community, and particularly this bunch.
Since January 2011--nearly 300 new members have walked, ran, biked, or swam with our
club. We hope you will join us again this coming year by renewing your
membership. Our membership form for 2012 is now available online, and we hope
that you will once again be a part of this amazing club. Front Runners New York is
supported by dues collected from our members. Your dues help us afford a variety of
events throughout the year, including our annual Track Meet at the Armory, Cross-Country
Meet at Van Cortlandt Park, Awards Night in January, the Pride Run in June, and our
coaches. By renewing your membership, you will continue to receive our monthly
newsletter, The Next Mile, along with our weekly Front Runner Gram, so you can stay
up-to date with club news, training, racing, and social events.Your FRNY membership also
entitles you to discounts at Urban Athletics, Super Runners Shops, and The Running
Company across the city. Members can also elect to be listed in our new business
directory (more information to come!). When you choose to join at a premium level, you
not only receive a higher tax deduction, you can feel good about supporting all of
FRNY’s running programs, as well as our charitable work in the running and LGBT
communities. Please note that all membership dues are fully tax-deductible, except where
noted, and will expire on December 31, 2012. Renew your membership today!Thank you
for being a part of FRNY this past year. We look forward to seeing you in
2012! Sincerely, Da Ping LuoMembership Coordinator membership@frny.org In

Greetings! It might seem like it was just yesterday that you joined Front Runners--and
perhaps it was! Kidding aside, membership expires on December 31 every year. Your dues
for 2011 were pro-rated for the last quarter of our fiscal year, so please take the time
now to renew for 2012, today! Our membership form for 2012 is now available online,

Cross-Country Meet at Van Cortlandt Park, Awards Night in January, the Pride Run in
June, and our coaching programs. By renewing your membership, you will continue to
receive our monthly newsletter, The Next Mile, along with our weekly Front Runner Gram
