Sam Sanders
Samecia “Sam” Sanders is a freelance photographer (and an accountant, and a baker) living in Brooklyn, NY. The native South Carolinian studied photography at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University, and has worked as a freelancer and photo assistant in Charleston, SC, and New York.
Sam began taking photos when her Mom bought her a Polaroid Captiva, the camera endorsed by the actor and comedian, Sinbad, back in the early ‘90s. Ever the little historian, Sam documented and preserved everything in her world through photography. Today, she continues her work through photo projects that include portraiture and street work. Her love for photography is only rivaled by her passion for athletics. Sam played basketball and softball as a child, and has always managed to stay active. She started running in 2010, and became a Front Runner in December 2012.
Photos shown here are from Pride runs and marches from 2014-2015. To see them all, visit her pride collections for 2014 and 2015.
